Research Travel Grants
21JPSI has funding available to help support faculty and graduate student research travel to Japan to conduct research on topics within the Initiative's aegis:
Basic Award Criteria
- All competitive research proposals will focus on issues directly relevant to the research component of 21JPSI's mission: supporting policy-relevant research on contemporary U.S. - Japan relations, Japanese politics, and/or other domestic challenges facing Japanese leaders and civil society.
- The Steering Committee will make its decisions based on the proposed research project's relevance to 21JPSI's mission, the importance to the project of travel to Japan, and the originality and significance of the proposed research.
- All Indiana University Bloomington faculty and graduate students are eligible; however, no faculty member may receive an award two years in-a-row.
